Why is this site not being used & Why aren't Greens getting involved in local issues?

This is the perfect venue for keeping informed on various *local* green issues. However, I think a total of two people may read this post, and they're both named Richard.

If we want to have an impact with the local electorate, we have to be involved in local green issues! In the case of the Hamilton Township ATV issue, none of the party "movers & shakers" participated in the public meeting & I recognized only one other party member there. If there had been Green participation in Cramahe Township and Alnwick/Haldimand Township, perhaps their ATV votes would have gone differently. And what about the Northumberland Forest controversies -- where were the Greens? Why didn't e-mails go out to members about these issues? (And BTW, a CBC radio producer recorded the public meeting for a future documentary--a missed chance for publicity.)

The Party appears to be centred in Cobourg & active only in Cobourg. We won't win votes that way, people.

And that's my rant for today, coming off the high created by winning the local ATV issue. :-)

That's a perfect example of

That's a perfect example of missed opportunity.

We really need to have a large enough population here to have a What's On and "I'll go" 'sign-up' board for local events, and get ourselves seen.

We have lost some momentum of late, and need people like Jane feeding us these items to include in a newletter.

Thank you Jane.
